Baby Doll

Antique Baby Doll

What a sweet and adorable little baby girl doll! She was made in the late 1920’s in Germany by Koenig and Wernicke, the famous doll manufacturers of those times.

My aunt recalls the following about one of her favourite dolls.

“Getting ‘Baby’ was a great event in my young life! My parents travelled to Berlin to get her for me as I was quite depressed to watch my sister, Agnes, with her new baby doll. Baby has lovely brown eyes "like Father" and Mother crocheted little suits for her. She slept in a beautiful baby carriage and I took her for walks outside propped up to see the world and greet my little friends. She was a real person to me. Cousin Evi ‘inherited’ her carriage and was thrilled with it".
